About Our Service
Airlifting / Clean Outs Creates Better Water Production and Quality
Aqua has been airlifting & bailing wells (clean outs) for over 25 yrs. This is a service we recommend to our customers who are experiencing low production, high iron or hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor), or wells that do not produce a safe water sample. The general age of a well that we clean out for production or water quality issues is usually around 20 – 50yrs old.

The Airlifting Process
The submersible pumping system is pulled from the well and a rigid pipe is put to the bottom of the well. A large air compressor is used to facilitate the removal of large amounts of sediment. The sediment builds up over time at the bottom of the well and along the sides of the well casing, causing low production or poor water quality. The pictures to the left demonstrate how the air pressure blows the debris out over the top of the well head. This process is continued up the entire column of the well, until the well has increased production & water clarity.
This process usually takes any where from 5-10 hours. The well is then put back into service.
A great time to consider airlifting your well is when the pumping system needs to be replaced. This can save on cost and it also allows your new pump to operate in the best of conditions.
